Most experts agree that you should feed your lawn in the form of fertilizer every 6 to 8 weeks (depending on weather conditions). Fertilization delivers nutrients that your lawn needs to promote healthy growth. Due to our long winters in Calgary, lawns undergo a lot of stress and may need an additional boost of nutrients to return to their best. At Good Neighbour we use granular fertilizer because it offers a slower release and thus less chance of surface runoff.

The best fight against weeds is a healthy lawn. Weed treatment is available by ways of a spot treatment and physical removal. We believe this is more environmentally sustainable by reducing the amount of herbicide application needed.

Fertilizing your lawn in early spring and throughout the growing months helps provide much needed nutrients for a healthy lawn. A fall fertilizer application is also recommended as the grass will store these nutrients in the root system throughout the dormant season, providing your lawn with the needed health boost to handle the freezing winter months.
